When an idea comes to mind, we typically will visualize the big or finished picture. Looking at the puzzle as complete so to speak. We also may ignore the process that it will take to get to that complete picture. Or even decide not to pursue the goal because of the process to begin with. But just like completing that same puzzle, without connecting the right pieces together, it will be impossible to turn that idea into a reality.
Most people have heard about the phrase of betting on yourself but if you haven’t, I would like to give my own insight to the phrase. It simply means to practically capitalize on yourself. To find a way to discover your true talent and go all in on yourself. To look within yourself as an opportunity rather than others. Is it a gamble when you know what you are capable of?
Do you sometimes find yourself asking questions that you know the answers to? Questions such as: Why can’t I go hard for myself like I do for this job? Why can’t I spend the same hours on my off days working on myself, my craft, and my product? Why do I want to focus on what I need to when I am under stress and not while I have the free time? My opinion… the lack of discipline.
I have not considered myself an investor for very long. If you ask me, I would say that I started about 2017. But after hours of searching for the best, most passive, least amount of effort investment that I could find, I just could not simply find it. It was only until recently that I realized that it was right in front of me the whole time. I knew it all along and didn’t notice it at all. It is TIME… time is the best investment that you can invest in.
As we go through life, we take on challenges and opportunities that we feel maybe just happen to us by random occurrence. The speeding driver jumped in our lane without a turn signal or someone held the door open for you while it was raining. Some maybe good and some bad but it is only after the experience that we can truly reflect on what we just went through. Some people may not take the time to reflect, reveal the experience, and learn from the lesson. This post will try to highlight this part of an experience to better help you understand life’s funny way of teaching.
