When Is It Time To Quit (elevate) Your Situation?
Society, while not entirely, can shape our minds and beliefs whether we want it to or not. In this particular post, I am referring to how society can make one feel like quitting something is a symbol of giving up. But what about the things that are hurting us, preventing us from growing, or even stressing us out? Is that good for our mental state and spirit? Allow me to share a few points in encouraging yourself to grow from the situation.
Growing up, I always thought that you were considered not strong for giving up. That by not becoming a quitter, you were in fact a winner. But what if you realized that the situation you are in is a battle not meant to be won?
I remember hearing someone say that having a job is similar to having a safety net. But what if that safety has a hole in it? How good and secure is that? How secure is the job or situation when you can be fired or it can be taken from you at any time?
Thinking of quitting without a business or other job lined up does prevent most people from starting their new journey. It also is a way a few others may begin their own. I have realized that some people need to leave that uncomfortable comfort zone in order to make your mind work for itself.

By staying in a position or situation that you don’t want to be in can make the unknown even scarier. Sometimes it may take just walking away with nothing prepared in order to free your mind. Who knows, your spirit make work better with a stressful situation behind you rather than with you.
There are plenty of other ways to make money but it may require a little more effort than what you are accustomed to. That may involve driving more, selling more, conversing with people more than you were at your previous position or situation. Don’t ever let that determine your reason for staying in an uncomfortable comfortable situation. Growth can be uncomfortable too.
It may sound cliché but if you are truly looking for some kind of assurance that you are not going to be out of income, build something on the side of your job. It can be a business, self-employed contract work, passive income, anything that you can think of that provides value to someone else.
You can also build something on your way up as well. I don’t want to say on your way down because that is not how you should look at it. When they say take a leap of faith and fail your way up…. I just say keep flapping your wings because you are already there. If you are looking for that so called safety net, this may be one of the surest ways to obtain it.
I have a suggestion that helped me when I elevated from my job. I was building a business as well as reducing my debt. While planning to leave my job, I was paying off my credit cards and eliminating unnecessary bills. It is a great feeling knowing that you only have about 10 total bills to worry about each month compared to 20. Knowing your debt amount for each month will allow you to know about how much you should be bringing in to be comfortable in your life.
So finally, only you know how much weight and pressure you can handle before you say to yourself that enough is enough. Look at this as an opportunity to grow from a situation or job. You are not quitting, you have just outgrown the situation. Take out the word quit and change it to elevate. Your mindset will adjust accordingly.
With that being said, I do hope you appreciate our site, learn a great deal, and focus on building yourself for the person that you are to become. Thank you in advance and for your time!
