Making Time For Myself

Sometimes we spend so much time catering to our family, working at our jobs, listening to our friends, and even planning the next tasks for the next day.  It is to no force of our own, it is just how society is now with everything moving and growing so fast.  It is only fair that you remove yourself mentally from time to time and to just hear yourself think.  You owe this to yourself.

This is a post that I can relate to on many levels due to the fact of taking the time to understand myself.  During my time of studying and learning about myself, I came to the realization that I need… no I must set time aside for myself to recharge.  A lot of the everyday things that we do can drain us without notice which can lead to frustration without a cause for most.

Now there are some people that can thrive in a fast paced, loud setting, and crowded atmosphere but I learned that I am not one of them.  After reflecting on my life, I noticed how I would go away to be alone from time to time if I felt overwhelmed.  How I would pick up a book to read because it allowed me to mentally step away, stay in my own head, and the silence was additional.  How I would like to wake up early because everyone else was asleep so that I could plan and complete projects with the least amount of distractions.

I soon realized that I was in some form meditating in my own way.  For example while working a job or project, there is nothing wrong with taking a break with family and coworkers, but one of those breaks may consist of me being alone in my car or in another room.  To take some time breathe and recharge from the continuous motions of everyday life.

When I had my first child, I had not realize this for myself yet and it was a struggle to understand why this parenting thing seemed harder than people made it seem.  But it was the lack of meditation, lack of recharge time, and the sense of being needed more than usual that lead to frustration.  Once realized that you have to make time for yourself, you will find a way even if it is at 3 in the morning on a work day, you will make it work.

With that being said, I do hope you appreciate our site, learn a great deal, and focus on building yourself for the person that you are to become.  Thank you in advance and for your time!
