Overcoming Procrastination

Procrastination has slowed the success and destroyed the dreams of many men and women. We sometimes take our time for granted by not realizing that it is something that we can never get back.  Of course it is only natural to place a task to a later date only to continue to do so endlessly.  It takes a special skill to overcome procrastination and most people do so with this simple procedure.

All tasks can be broken down into steps to complete and for this, we call planning and strategizing. Any goal no matter how big or small, can be divided into steps to reach the accomplished outcome. For example if you would like to write a book, then you must compose the individual chapters, correct? If you would like to create a song, you must compose different notes to make up that unique sound, correct? See everything can be broken down no matter how complete it may look on the exterior.

So to break down the procedure even further, suppose you generate an idea that you believe could make you very successful in your own way.

  1. First step, write it down in a draft format.  Taking time to structure it will come later so to just focus on getting the idea in print.  Write down everything that you can think of about the idea and what you were doing, watching, listening to.  This will help you capture that moment.
  2. Next, create a plan on how you may execute the idea and organize it.  Does it require money, time, networking with others?  To have a strategized plan of your idea mapped out will save you time on your next steps and explaining the process to others if that is what is involved.
  3. Lastly, is to begin the action. Whatever it may be, do it now!  Action to avoid procrastination is the most effective way to accomplish the goal.  As I mentioned before, we generate thousands of ideas but without taking action, that is what they will remain.

This may not be the solution that works for you but if you need, use it.  These simple steps are only meant to supplement anything that may currently be working for you and to add or enhance them.  It has helped me to avoid continuing to store my ideas for a later date.  As you all may know, time will stop for no one.

With that being said, I do hope you appreciate our site, learn a great deal, and focus on building yourself for the person that you are to become.  Thank you in advance and for your time!
